The word says be not consumed with the things of this world; but have your mind set on those things that are above. Of course that's easier said than done. When you see your own life filled with the problems of the world. But all it takes is a quick examination of whats really important or question of how does this truly relate? By observation of the answers. We come to the conclusion that the worlds perspective is just an illusion. There's no real substance and no real truth. Only temporary entities to confuse and distract you from the purpose God called you to do. Because in reality all things which are not of God shall past. And the flesh isn't made to last. Its a temporary state to hopefully take you to an everlasting place.
So when things seem hard or simply falling apart. Take a real good look at, what it's all about. Than go in to your own private closet and give it all to the Father. Allow him into your heart. And he'll separate your spirit and soul from a world soon to be destroyed. The physical may remain the same but the inner man will eventually change. Changed into something more. Once you give your life to God. You're set apart. Because you are born of the spirit. No longer governed by flesh and blood.
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 1 John 2: 15
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, what soever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with. Philippians 4: 8-9
Peace, I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27
BUT there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2 Peter 2: 1
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou has shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. Matthew 6: 6
